6.5 acres where the mountains meet the sea. Something is growing. Coming soon.

Château Grass Shaque is our home: 6.5 acres on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, where the mountains meet the sea. The house is straw bale, built for passive solar and finished in clay plaster made from the land it sits on. Around it are mature food forests, two wildlife ponds, a greenhouse, and more than twenty varieties of basketry willow, all from over a decade of stewardship.

Why Château Grass Shaque? The name comes from Robin’s grandfather, who started Château Grass Shaque as a private wine label as a nod to his Hawaiian roots and ancestry. It finally has a shaque to belong to. Tyler and Robin came here to slow down and live with more intention. What this place becomes is still unfolding. We invite you to join our journey, one baby step at a time.
